Alan & Lynn are retired Detectives from Strathclyde Police. On retiring they ventured into other careers Alan within the Retail Sector and Lynn within the NHS.


They also ventured into tourism and hospitality owning a very successful four Star Guest House in Argyll called Lochwood House which was set within five acres of private gardens and beach on the loch side. This was the beginning of their journey into garden maintenance. The grounds of Lochwood House were admired and utilized by guests and on occasion used for fashion and wedding photo shoots.


After nine years they decided to move closer to family and purchased Maythorne which was also set within sprawling gardens.


Eight years ago they built Maythorne Cottage five star Luxury Kennels and Cattery which were purposely built and designed to home pets in luxurious surroundings whilst the owners were on holidays or on trips. They felt that the grounds had to mirror the high standards within the Kennels and Cattery and as such  set to task cutting, pruning and maintaining. The grounds standards were recognized by customers and they decided that this was a service they could take forward Maythorne Cottage Garden Maintenance was launched


Although a small family run business both Alan and Lynn treat every garden they tend as their own, offering a professional, friendly reliable service to  domestic and corporate clients.
